Great Xpectations are exhilarating. When we think about a new adventure, a date, a new 'stock pick', anything new can stir up excitement. Be careful! As soon as adrenaline starts, it is time to stop - and refer back to The Plan. Implicit in trading decisions are the vagaries of human psychology and behavior, conscious and unconscious wishes, fears and fantasies that lure us into bad, sometimes catastrophic, financial positions. In a perfect world, investors would consider all available information before making a buy or sell decision. Emotions would not enter into the thinking.
